Where are you folks chatting. I joined the league, don't see any discussion anywhere. No invite to draftime, what am I missing.

Doom! :D

When Yahoo discontinued the message boards, what they left us as league "chat" is worthless. (The only hockey league messages there are from last season.)

League renewal at Yahoo was done August 10, and all managers should have been notified directly at that time by Yahoo via email. What we are still awaiting is confirmation from four managers (if you are "in," that makes it three). Evil Commish sent an outreach email on September 2 and/or 3 and followed up on September 12.

Returning managers won't need an invitation for Draftime; however, I am reluctant to renew here and set a draft order until we have a final number. The fee has been prepaid.

Foot, Ira, and Kris: "In" or "Out"?

Christine,

I asked if the draft was paid for, hoped to get it before you, but clearly was too slow on the trigger. Looking forward to another year, allow me to help out next time.

Draft Order

Post by Mario LeMoose » Wed Sep 25, 2024 6:34 pm

Draft order, as determined by random.org:

1. The Dienasty :)
2. Munson Mobsters :)
3. Wheatfarmers
4. Talldrinksov Water
5. THE Hockey Club :) --> PASTA
6. Foot's Dekes
7. Perm Dudes
8. ira
9. COVID Night in Canada
10. Hartford Hurricanes
11. Tax Cuts
12. Scranton Nordiques :)

No team name changes, please, while the draft is underway.

Taxman: HUGE thanks for recruiting our four new managers. :) Alas, random.org showed no favor in choosing your draft position.

Edited 09/26 to reflect name change for team drafting in fifth position.

Every year I try to use 0:00:00 on the elapsed time clock and somehow I [BLEEP] up once or twice. This will be the year.

"Although we are off to a delayed start, let's do our best to preserve this league's reputation for making timely picks. LOL!

Serious question: how that we're up to 12 teams, do we want 4 or 6 reams in the playoffs?

I certainly would support returning to six teams; playoffs would be three weeks (rather than two) in duration.

Then it's settled! the commissioner and one other player makes a majority.

Yes for 6

If increased to 12, WCE (Worst Commissioner Ever) might make playoffs

Picking Up the Pace

Post by Mario LeMoose » Fri Sep 27, 2024 8:08 pm

Evil Commish will be monitoring the draft as much as possible through Sunday evening (Eastern Daylight Time) and will send a courtesy Y'rup email if necessary to "tardy" managers. No action taken by the manager within a reasonable amount of time may result in a pick skipped (the draft moves along, you catch up later).

If you do not already do so, please use the Manage Email Notifications option, https://www.draftime.com/user_edit_emai ... ations.php, to get advance notification when your turn is approaching.

Please consider setting queues (general and/or pick-based) as well as auto-picks (instant or time-delayed). Thank you to those who have—unless you empty my queue.

Does anybody mind if we just skip through DMC's picks so we can finish the draft by opening night?

We have a 12 team league, make the picks for this team, make it at least a bit relevant.

If we have only 11 active managers, the other team should not be completely bereft of players.

If that is acceptable, take the highest ranked player for the position that team still needs, so we have a plan for how they will be taken. Mean commish and assistant commish can make the call.

Evil Commish  is collaborating privately with Co-Commish 8) about steps to be taken to complete the roster for the absent manager. The gradually reduced time allowance between picks for this team has ended.

(Public message board, so limiting details.)

No objections having been expressed by league membership, the playoff weeks setting has been changed to:
6 teams - Week 23, 24 and 25 (ends Thursday, April 17)
Note: Week 25 runs 11 days from April 7 to April 17

Applying divine talents at work

Post by PeterBot » Sat Nov 23, 2024 11:58 am

Understanding of spiritual abilities cultivates development and wisdom, improving your connection with yourself and the world.
Spiritual gifting

Your inner talents hold the power to change your path and the lives of those around you. These distinct traits help you to display your true self and realize your calling. But how do you unlock their power?

First, recognize that unique abilities are present in everyone, though they may show uniquely. For example, some people may excel in teaching and inspiring others, while different people might have a innate ability for empathy or healing.

Participate in practices like writing or meditation to deepen your awareness. Ask yourself queries like, "How am I naturally good at?" or "How can those around me describe my traits?"

In the end, accessing your inner talents is about assisting others while being true to yourself. It's a journey of exploration, alignment, and impact.
