Two thoughts... if you want Judge you certainly have only one chance to get him. Also, if Joe is a Yankee fan I can certainly see taking a Yankee who might not be number one but is definitely top five. It's great to root for your guy and team at the same time. If Judge stays healthy Joe will be very happy.

The Yankee fan in me screamed Judge all the way. I do like the fact that he can play all 3 OF positions. I liked both Ohtani and Witt. I am sure both will come back to haunt me but here’s to hoping Judge has a good year because if he delivers then we can see a successful Yankee season.

I don’t see the surprise, Judge is a top 3 pick.

I just think Ohtani coming off a 50/50 year is more of a clear number 1. Yes he may pitch so he may run less, or may not play every game.

I think Judge is easily anywhere from 2-4 (Depending on your Soto/Witt preference), so maybe "SURPRISE" was a bad choice of words. I have him as a 3. I'm rooting for him of course. I also think Judge has more risk or regression. Just my opinion.

Joe had 18 days from when he knew he was #1 to when he picked. I am sure it was thought out.

I like the Mike Trout pick...I was going to use my next pick on him.
