As much as I hate to have to admit this Bubba has taken two guys in front of me now that I was ready to pull the trigger on. McFadden in round one and Demaryius Thomas last night. I'm hoping he did me a favor because both guys I ended up taking were the "safe" pick (Lynch/Decker) and I was thinking of shooting for upside with the other two. Joe IDK how you can say you think McFadden plays 16 games this year. You can hope and pray for it but can't predict it. I was gonna take the chance but prolly better I didn't get the chance...we shall see.

As for the rest of you :o
[*]Richie - I hope you win the league (because that means Vick played the whole season)
[*]Claudio - needs to hit a HR on a late QB and sleeper RB
[*]David - way too many ?marks but upside is high
[*]Joe - I like your team except for VJ
[*]Rockland - huge concerns at RB and with Andre Johnson's health, but again, upside
[*]Kevin - if Richardson can be what they say, Gore has a bounce back, and Dez takes a step up I'm scared
[*]Brett - you have a great QB
[*]gdsmith - if your RBs can stay healthy and produce team looks tight...I was targeting Brandon Marshal till Julio Jones slid to me
[*]Jeff - deep at RB questionable at WR...looks like a NIT championship team
[*]Steve - RBs that don't do goal-line and a QB and TE that rarely play 16 games...they will need to for ya
[*]Bubba - if McFadden stays healthy and Ingram can get the lion's share your gonna be tough this year. I thought about Newton and he scares me to go either way this year. Vernon Davis was a reach down you didn't have to make
[*]Me - When Payton Manning puts up the same fantasy points as the QBs taken in round one I'm gonna be hoisting the trophy 8)

Greetings from Virginia Beach VA. Sorry I have not been around this week to really follow everyone's teams and comment on the draft and mock everyone elses selections but it looks to be shaping up to be a real competitive year based on how the rosters are shaping up. No real reaches worth pointing out and I did not notice any real value drops for their steal potential. Everytime I dis a team at draft time they usually beat me anyway.

By the way, what happened with Rob's 8.02 pick. I saw he drafted SF def, then it turned into a missed pick? I reset it to SF. If this is an error, text me 845 548 3544 and I'll correct it.

FYI, I'm in an all-day meeting tomorrow, but should be able to duck out to make my 8.11 and 9.2 picks (live or queue). Likely won't be available to make my Round 10/11 picks until at least 7pm (in case we get that far)

Did you post this before or after Bubba took a DE in the 8th round? BTW I'm checking the draft from my phone and noticed Bubba's last pick is highlighted pink!?! Is it something with my phone's browser or does DraftTime know how much of a chick-pick it was...lol. Is anyone else seeing that?

I was typing when that pick was made so: Before. LOL. It is pink because I reentered the pick, that somehow showed up as skipped about 10 minutes after he made it initially. Strange.

Kevin,

If Britt is healthe and not incarcerated (that means "in jail") he will be terrific. I almost took hit when I picked Hayward-Bey.

Thanks, [BLEEP] (that means "Rich") - I seriously thought you might take Britt. There's a ton of upside.. We'll see how it works out. There were 3-4 guys I might've taken before him that were taken this round. Your pick was one of them.

Question and maybe a refresher/cautionary tale for newer managers:
How many players at each position are we allowed to draft and did we ever agree to the gentleman's rule of you must draft a kicker? I can't remember if we limit the RBs and WRs to 6 each or was it you could have 12 of your choice. Commish???

Da commish!

I think it's 6 each if I remember right, (Kevin and I were talking about it yesterday).

And there are NO gentlemen here, so there goes that other question..........

I don't remember the outcome of the gentlemen's agreement re: kickers (I think we said that you had to draft one), but here are the maximums as per the ESPN league website:

POSITION STARTERS MAXIMUM
Quarterback (QB) 1 3
Running Back (RB) 1 6
Running Back/Wide Receiver (RB/WR) 1 N/A
Wide Receiver (WR) 2 6
Tight End (TE) 1 2
Team Defense/Special Teams (D/ST) 1 2
Place Kicker (K) 1 2

FYI... if Bubba ever picks this weekend, my availability to pick tomorrow is limited as I'll be on a plane to Cali..

Espn won't let me load more than the max we set for each position. If anyone goes over the max allowed in the draft as soon as I notice it or it is brought to my attention, I will vacate the pick and the drafting manager can re post a new pick any time while the draft is continuing. They should but no one needs to draft all positions during the draft if they think that is a good strategy, the season will be kicking off soon enough so they can add/drop before then, i think all undrafted players go on waivers for a few days after launch.

Great progress in one week. We should be finished soon and I can post the teams and get this launched by next weekend.

Safe trip Claudio

Jeff, such good progress is being made with the pace of the draft. Maybe start it a few days later next season? Not that any huge names have gotten hurt or holdout issues really affecting peoples minds etc, but in the month every day of August literally provides lots of news and continuity. I mean we will be done by the 27th which is a full 9 days before the season starts, maybe just starting the draft 3-5 days later next season, and who knows - could end up being a huge resource.
