Hmm...my new rankings site tells me that with these settings I should draft a set-up man #1. Is this a good idea or do I need a different rankings site
Draft Room

The draft room is now open for setting queues and making designated picker arrangements.
If you have not already done so, please familiarize yourself with Draftime's features, including the auto-pick option:

Getting Started
Posted: Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:37 am
by Mario LeMoose
Official draft start: Monday, March 7, 9:00 a.m. EST
• The draft will run without a time limit between picks for at least the first round.
• After the first day—assuming we have completed a full round—a five-hour limit between picks will apply so that we do not fall behind pace.
• The overnight pause will be midnight to 9:00 a.m. Eastern; this is a daily pause, i.e., also includes Saturday-Sunday.
• We will be drafting on weekends unless I post otherwise.
• Add a secondary e-mail address, if you have one, to your Draftime user account to ensure that draft notification messages are received.
Please maintain an adequate queue and communicate with your fellow league members—especially designated pickers. When you assign a designated picker, you are authorizing that person to draft on your behalf. Some designated pickers will jump right in and make a selection; unless I am instructed otherwise, I tend to allow the manager on the clock about two hours to draft his/her own player. You must change your queue status to
AVAILABLE TO PICKERS if you want a designated picker to draft for your team.
Draft picks are restricted to players in the current Yahoo! player pool. If you are contemplating taking a rookie, first check the Yahoo! player list for
our league to confirm that the player is available. No "placeholders."
Note that the Draftime player queue shows only the following positions: C, INF, OF, P. An Excel 2007 workbook version of our league's player pool (current as of Saturday, March 5) will be available here for download until March 13:

Disclaimer: This file is being provided as a courtesy by your evil commish to assist in determining position eligibility. Navigate by using the tabs at the bottom of each worksheet ("all batters," "all pitchers," and position-by-position). I accept no responsibility for errors/omissions.
Slacker Penalty: If any manager runs the full clock twice without making a pick, he/she will receive only half the normally allotted time for the next four rounds. Each subsequent timeout by the tardy manager will result in the same penalty for the following four rounds.

Whoops. I had set a queue and turned on "auto-pick" so it looks like it went ahead and picked for me. I guess that's how "auto-pick" works....
Three and Out

Anyone have an alternate way to reach our wayward manager? I tried e-mail a couple of hours ago ... no reply.

Not such a great start to our draft!! My pick is in for an auto pick as soon as the wayward one chooses to pick. I am thinking we need to start the clock!
Oh, Taxman ...

E-mailed Taxman about 90 minutes ago to notify him that his team is on the clock, queue is unavailable. No other way to contact.

General comments
3NO (Kyle) has heavy heavy work responsibilities. He and thepwa (Dave) work in the same builsing and I work with their company and them fairly closely. That all said, often times Kyle is just gone/not available. Doring those times, you can try reaching Dave via e-mail or you can call me on my cell 5one2-eight01-66ofive
second tidbit..I leave for family wedding in Virginia Friday afternoon March 18, returning to Austin after midnight Monday the 21st. I will be working at Kyle and Daves office Monday the 18th, but other than that I may have no computer access. I will try to carry a cheat sheet, but someone (maybe Dave) can keep me informed as draft progresses...or you just may have to skip over me.

Does Kyle have Dave and/or you set up as a designated picker? That would seem to be the most efficient way to relay a draft-related message to him (Kyle) during the hours when he is not readily available.

Sorry guys for the hold up!! I was called at work yesterday and had to run out to take my dad to the hospital where I stayed until late last night. All my draft stuff and laptop were at work until I came in early this morning.

jeffaggy had an available queue for round 14; even though I'm not listed as one of his designated pickers, I went ahead and made the selection for his team.
