I'm so sick of snow I can't even begin to put into words! I'm in need of some serious sunshine. Maybe its time to take a trip to South Florida! :D

League Settings

Post by Mario LeMoose » Sat Feb 26, 2011 3:47 pm

League settings for this season are similar to last year's:

Scoring ... head-to-head
New players become available ... wait until called up to majors
Maximum moves (waiver wire/free agent acquisitions for the entire season) ... 40
Maximum trades ... no maximum
Trade reject time ... 2 days
Trade end date ... August 28, 2011
Waiver time ... 2 days
Waiver type ... continual rolling list
"Can't cut" list provider ... none
Trade review ... league votes
Post-draft players ... follow waiver rules
Minimum innings pitched ... 15 (per week)
Weekly deadline ... daily–tomorrow (daily starting lineup changes)
Start scoring ... Week 1
Playoffs ... Weeks 22, 23 and 24 (6 teams)
(Week 24 runs 7 days from September 12 to September 18)
Divisions ... no
Draft rounds ... 23
Roster positions ... C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF (3), Util (2), SP (2), RP (2), P (3), BN (6); DL (2)
Stat categories ... R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS; W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP

One new league setting at Yahoo! is "allow draft pick trades." This has been set to "no" because we are using an offline draft and draft results are entered manually by the league commissioner. You can use Draftime to trade picks, players, or both.

Projected draft start: Monday, March 7, at 9:00 a.m. EST

Moose, are you laying any ground rules related to draft pick trades?

And how will we track who has what picks if there are numerous trades of multiple picks made?

I can answer that one. The current owner of the pick (after all trades have been taken into consideration) will be shown as the "Manager" for the pick on all pages (Draft Home, All Picks, Manager Picks, etc.).

An icon will indicate that the manager owns the pick as the result of a trade.

Trades? Trades? Are you sure you're posting in the correct league's forum?

I hope to have the draft order posted by Thursday. Not all managers have registered yet for the league.

Draft Room

Post by Mario LeMoose » Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:13 am

The draft room is now open for setting queues and making designated picker arrangements.

If you have not already done so, please familiarize yourself with Draftime's features, including the auto-pick option:

Getting Started

Post by Mario LeMoose » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:42 am

Official draft start: Monday, March 7, 9:00 a.m. EST

• The draft will run without a time limit between picks for the first round, assuming no prolonged delays.
• After the first round, a five-hour limit between picks will apply so that we do not fall behind pace.
• The overnight pause will be midnight to 9:00 a.m. Eastern; this is a daily pause, i.e., also includes Saturday-Sunday.
• We will be drafting on weekends unless I post otherwise.
• Add a secondary e-mail address, if you have one, to your Draftime user account to ensure that draft notification messages are received.

Please maintain an adequate queue and communicate with your fellow league members—especially designated pickers. When you assign a designated picker, you are authorizing that person to draft on your behalf. Some designated pickers will jump right in and make a selection; unless I am instructed otherwise, I tend to allow the manager on the clock about two hours to draft his/her own player. You must change your queue status to AVAILABLE TO PICKERS if you want a designated picker to draft for your team.

Draft picks are restricted to players in the current Yahoo! player pool. If you are contemplating taking a rookie, first check the Yahoo! player list for our league to confirm that the player is available. No "placeholders."

Note that the Draftime player queue shows only the following positions: C, INF, OF, P. An Excel 2007 workbook version of our league's player pool (current as of Saturday, March 5) will be available here for download until March 13:

Disclaimer: This file is being provided as a courtesy by your commish to assist in determining position eligibility. Navigate by using the tabs at the bottom of each worksheet ("all batters," "all pitchers," and position-by-position). I accept no responsibility for errors/omissions.

Slacker Penalty: If any manager runs the full clock twice without making a pick, he/she will receive only half the normally allotted time for the next four rounds. Each subsequent timeout by the tardy manager will result in the same penalty for the following four rounds.

Overall, I like the new format. Just need to find everything now.

To designate pickers, click on "queues" in the upper right corner of the draft home page. Then there will be a link to designate pickers.

Is there a link that goes directly to this discussion forum? I didn't see one. I clicked on "forums" on bottom of the page and then navigated to this forum.

Go to the main Forums page, then click "Draft Discussions."
Find the link for this league.
Right-click "bookmark this link" (or whatever term applies to the browser that you are using).

Checked in late last night, saw no picks made.....forgot to check in all day, and it's my turn.

The bad/funny thing is I even have a long queue, and didn't make it available. And then when I made my pick of R. Halladay it defaulted to catcher, and I hit mad pick instead of changing it. Add in all the stupid people I had to deal with today at work (employees and guests--never changes), you see what kind of Monday I had.

Curby,

Edited Halladay's position from "C" to "SP" for you.
