First pick...first tough decision. Is Le'veon Bell for 14 games worth the 4th pick? The "experts" say yes, but I wonder if the fact that we start our playoffs a week earlier than most leagues takes away from his value. Having Bell available at the end of the season means little if I'm not in the playoffs!

Tell you the truth I wouldn't have blinked an eye if Lacy, Bell, AP, Charles or Lynch went number 1. I feel any one of those guys can be the top pick. In years past it was always 2 guys that can go 1, but now there are 5 guys. Can't go wrong with Lacy in that offensive juggernaut they call Green Bay.

Agree with Joe. Bell at 4 is a good pick. I was this [ ] close to taking him at 2. Remember we are a semi-ppr league now.

He should be a PPR monster. I found a new piece that discussed how the Steelers are using Bell as a WR in some sets because he is such a good route runner.

Wow, my WR queue for 2.07 got picked clean in the 4 or so picks leading to mine, just my Luck. Six was a tough spot for me, liked the top 5 RB

Forsett was all penciled in for my next pick Rockland...b@stard
@ Jeff - I like Anderson and Murray very much plus you get a better second pick. I offered to trade down but got no takers

Guys, seriously In the day and age of Skype and internet, we really need to think about having a live draft and getting the draft done in one night. Dragging along for days at a time just ain't cutting it anymore.........

The thing about the live draft is it maybe hard trying to get everyone to go on the computer at a certain time. I'm pretty sure we have people in this league in different time zones. Honestly I like the off-line drafting because its exciting getting that email saying your up and you look at the que and see how people you want have been taken in that round. It does get frustrating waiting but it happens. Did we have a clock one year? We basically did 3 rounds in one day and I am sure once we get rolling today its gonna be round 5-6 by days end.

Over the weekend a friend of mine and his 10 buddies did a live draft, and they were scattered from NY to Florida to Hawaii to Ireland and they got their draft done in 3 and a half hours and mixed in a drinking game with it.
Maybe I'm just getting old and impatient............

I actually like it the we have it (sorry Rich). I did not have a lot of time to prepare; life keeps getting in the way. This allows me to think a bit. It makes the season more enjoyable. Win or lose, I know the decisions were mine and not the clock's.

I side with Rich on this one - if we maintain a steady pace, then this method is fine. While I realize that life/work/other stuff gets in the way, there really is no reason for uber-lengthy delays - provided folks use queues, designated pickers, etc - but not everyone does.
It shouldn't be unfeasible to designate a 90-minute block for everyone to block out months ahead of time to do the draft live. 90 minutes is all it would really take - I did one today on my lunch break and a 17-round draft took 75 minutes (including lunch)

I reached out to Greg and he will pick shortly. Sometimes work etc gets in the way.
We've discussed a draft clock in the past but if someone gets tied up especially in the early rounds, they'll be at a disadvantage all season.
We'd all appreciate a heads up if there is going to be a delay, or auto queue setting if you are a few picks away, but this is not the group where everyone wants to be in that type of league.
We always have a few slow days, we should be back on track soon.

My understanding is some people vouched for certain people when pick time came to a head a few years back.. so multiple people to blame for one slow picker... Not that its just one persons fault for delays... (and i accidentally deleted the you're up email yesterday at work <thought it was the you're 3 picks away> and work an hour plus away, and my boss was talking to me for an hour straight, past my shift end, so I didn't pick until i got home... sorry for any delays caused on my part yesterday.. trying to be much quicker than i have in years past)
That said, I would also like to take this moment to give thanks to Jeff! Assuming he paid the annual $10 for this sites usage. You the man Jeff!

RIch I was hoping Brees would continue to fall. Kevin I almost pulled the trigger on Peyton in round 4 but decided to buy into the hype of Jordan Matthews. I know we say this a lot but my que was destroyed during this round.

Sorry for the delay earlier today guys. I had a three hour event today that I couldn't get away from. Of course my pick would fall right when I walked in. I've tried the queuing and my picks always get taken up and I don't like to que to far in advance. I always want to see the best player on the board before making my final selection. I kinda of like the lengthy time it takes us. This is the first league I've been in that does that. I understand the delays and I too get impatient, but it is the nature of our league. Good luck to everyone this year.

If having my queues ripped to shreds is a sign of a good draft, I would say we are doing really well
