My pick at 3.10 on auto. I'll be back @ 8:15 PM to make my 4th round pick if draft has moved that far.

Where in the world is Ira?

Post by Mario LeMoose » Mon Sep 22, 2014 6:39 pm

Heads up to managers picking close to Ira's turn: Remember to take into consideration the time zone difference.

What time is it now?

I did some backtracking looking at my draft position and found I've had the worst luck with the draft order. Worst!! I've been running at the bottom of the order for the last 8 years. :(
I can hardly wait for 2015 - I'm thinking the odds will change in my favour.
2006 - 4 of 14
2007 - 11 of 12
2008 - 11 of 12
2009 - 10 of 10
2010 - 10 of 12
2011 - 11 of 12
2012 - 10 of 12
2013 - 9 of 12
2014 - 12 of 12

Similar thoughts here whenever I purchase a lottery ticket ... alas, with the same result.

Just for giggles:

Here's how the draft order is determined, using random.org, for each of the Yahoo leagues that I commish. They are all casual, redraft leagues, i.e., non-keeper.

Generate a random sequence
Sequence boundaries are the smallest value (always 1) and the largest value (total number of teams).

Generate a randomized list
Each team name is a "line."

Match the two.

When we played fantasy sports at another, now-defunct, website (Sandbox), Curby used to complain about seemingly always getting the number three draft position.

ugh..having continuing problems with firefox freezing on my iMac. frustrating and damned inconvenient for a draft. If I disappear it is due to this problem. I dealt with it last week until the Apple Genius bar would fix it (last Thursday) and now it is doing it again. Back to the Genius Bar, to make an appointment to go back to the Genius Bar to leave computer to get it fixed and return to pick it up later same day...but wait time for getting an appointment was 4 days last week. Who knows what it will be Monday.

If there is no time limit, how is there a missed pick. Just curious.

IMHO

Just no clock...missed pick fell under the sun dial rule. MIA for 24 hours is a loooooooong time

Ding ding ding! Skipping a manager's pick is never done without first making an effort to contact him/her and allowing reasonable time for response or action. It is not meant to be punitive but is done, when necessary, to keep the draft moving.

and that is how an extraordinary commissioner became known as WCE.....establishing such by repeatedly granting mercy to the great unwashed
