[BASEBALL] Hackers 2020 Draft Discussion

Post by jeffg » Tue Mar 10, 2020 2:56 pm

OK gang. Opening Day is just 2 weeks away (.....we all hope)

ON WEDNESDAY 3/11 - I will launch the draft site around 8AM. Claudio will be on the clock. By now you should all know your spot in the draft order.

1 Claudio
2 John
3 Jeff
4 Joe
5 Jason
6 Steve
7 Mark
8 Albert
9 Brian
10 Rich L
11 Rich R
12 Kevin

no clock... but you know the drill. BE PREPARED. If you can... remember to set and use queues and set them to auto pick if you are ready. Maybe if the person ahead of you is taking a while, and you know who you'd take next, set a queue and turn it on.

If you know you are possible going to cause an unusual delay. BE CONSIDERATE. Give everyone a heads up.

I set up our league draft discussion in the forum here. The usual trash talk and banter is always encouraged

reminder..... Ideally we have to do 2 PLUS rounds per day to stay on target. With 2-3 rounds a day and a slow draft, you have plenty of time to vet your next few rounds every evening and stay on top of things. I'll have to get everyone's roster loaded by 3/25 at the latest in order for us to have active rosters on day-1.

Good luck to all.

Ohtani reminder

yahoo treats Ohtani the hitter and Ohtani the pitcher as two different players. Be mindful if you draft him of that distinction.

So MLB has suspended spring training and opening day pushed back to mid April. Lets still forge ahead with the draft.

once things settle down and the new MLB schedule comes out, we will pro-rate max IP to account for a shortened season.

Stay healthy everyone!

Twice. Claudio, twice. My fault for rolling the dice that they would make it past you and back to me but I am still blaming you.

Sorry Slash! If it's any consolation, I had Goldy ahead of Realmuto and Hader during that swing...

Sorry for the delay... Was on a screenshare with support for 2+ hours. I made my picks within 20 mins as soon as we dropped. Good luck all... Except Al. :P

Kevin with the Judge and Stanton picks! Love IT. This extra break gives them a chance to get healhy for the start of the season. As Yankee fan I SO HOPE these guys stay on the field.

I was hoping Judge or Stanton would fall back to me. I agree Jeff, with the extra time off it gives Stanton and Judge more time to heal up. Solid picks Kev! I took them 1-2 last year. Maybe it will work out better for you then it did me.

There is value to having guys that play. I had Stanton last year in my other league. He never plays but you are afraid to drop him. I hope that Judge isn't injury prone. He's a terrific talent and seemingly a good guy (this is coming from a Met fan).

I thought about those guys as well and the late start. Grabbing both on the turn hoping for one to shine but if they both do you look good Kev 8)

So how the heck did I just pick up 100 HRs with the 7th and 8th pick

I know y'all were thinkin the same thing as me about Nelson Cruz but all he has to do is sit in the dugout smoking a cigarette and come out swinging a stick every few innings

sorry guys, getting my [BLEEP] kicked at work... Trying to keep up as best i can. No disrespect. I truely did not see i was up. working 12 hour days, as not getting any reprieve for my time spent training (still have to work a full day and just swamped) -- not looking for sympathy -- just appreciate the limited snickers, jeers on timing of picks, etc -- feel free to poke fun at players selected, etc..

Please don't take that away from us!

We might not have baseball, but we have the draft.

I haven't gotten dressed today but I'm drafting
